Touro University California 2015 Commencement Ceremony
May 28, 2015
This year, TUC will host a separate ceremony for each of the colleges, beginning with the College of Osteopathic Medicine on Sunday morning, followed by the College of Education and Health Sciences on Sunday at 6 p.m., and the College of Pharmacy at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015. All ceremonies will be held at the Masonic Auditorium.
Touro University California Raises the Flag Once Again

For Zachary Landau, ENS MC, USNR and student at Touro University California, restoring the Mare Island Hospital flag was a matter of national honor.
The College of Osteopathic Medicine student felt the absence of the nation’s colors on the Touro campus and recognized its significance while training to be a Naval officer during one summer. Together with Mare Island’s Naval history, Landau knew he needed to help make a change.
Touro Kicks Off 14th Annual Research Day

Impressive poster presentations and dynamic speakers are lined up for a day of excitement at Touro University California’s 14th Annual Research Day, a yearly tradition that showcases the most recent work of Touro’s faculty and students.
On Wednesday, April 30th from 3:30-6 p.m. inside Farragut Inn, the University celebrates the contributions of its researchers in the fields of basic science, clinical practice, education and public health, with a focus on Metabolism and Nutrition. More than 80 abstracts will be on display inside Touro’s Farragut Inn.
Touro University California and Kaiser Permanente Hosts First Ever March For Babies Walk On Mare Island Campus

The Vallejo community is invited to join Touro University This year’s event – the first to be held in Vallejo - will take place on Sunday, April 19th, at the Touro University California campus. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with race beginning at 9:30 a.m. Parking is available at 1322 Cosset St in Vallejo, adjacent to the campus Library.California and Kaiser Permanente for its first March of Dimes MARCH FOR BABIES walk, a national fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.
College Town Vallejo Launch

As the home to three institutions of higher learning, Vallejo is an educational hub for thousands of college students. Friday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m., the City of Vallejo, Touro University California, Solano Community College and California State University Maritime Academy are launching a new phase of the city’s College Town initiative, designed to celebrate this essential feature of the community.
Touro Offers Free Diabetes Classes for Vallejo Residents

Touro University California (TUC) Student-Run Free Clinic (SRFC) will offer a seven week-long Diabetes Education Program, in both English and Spanish, starting Monday, April 6th, 2015. These free hour-long courses will cover basic diabetes information, lifestyle changes needed for diabetes management, and provide demonstrations and personal help with self-care, such as glucometer use and foot exams. Nutritional and behavioral health aids, and limited diabetes supplies, will also be available to participants.
Harmful Effects of Fructose Can Be Quickly Reversed

The potentially harmful effect of excessive fructose in our diet can start to be reversed in just nine days, according to a new study conducted by Touro University California and the University of California, San Francisco. The remarkable research also reveals that fructose - not overeating - is the key concern when it comes to health problems associated with a high-fructose diet.
Touro Hosts 9th Annual Teen Life Conference

Instilling the significance of health care while teaching the value of a medical career was the drive behind this year’s Teen Life Conference (TLC) at Touro University California.

Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences; and 11 from the Master of Science in

Touro University California Hits Record Match Rate into Primary Care

The suspense is over for more than 120 future doctors at Touro University California’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, who were matched in the area they wish to practice for their careers.
A record 68% of this year’s College of Osteopathic Medicine graduates matched into
primary care residencies. Additionally, 44% of Touro medical graduates matched to
a residency program in California – a total that continues the University’s high match
rate in California for the fourth consecutive year (running average is 43.5%). This
brings a total 79% of graduates matched in either primary care, in California, or
both. Remaining students were matched from Hawaii to Maine, and Washington to Florida.

Touro University California is excited to announce the opening of a School of Nursing,
designed for working registered nurses with an Associate (ADN) or Baccalaureate Degree
in Nursing (BSN) and leading to a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leader
